Special Event Volunteers
CASA is an active contributor to the Edmonton mental health community. Through our fundraising program, CASA Foundation, we hold many events to raise money and awareness for mental health. Event season starts each year in May with regular fundraising events being held through until September. These events provide many opportunities to volunteer - our CASA Carnival event in May requires around 100 volunteers alone!
Playroom Assistants
As a playroom assistant, you will use your creativity and work with CASA staff to develop interesting playroom activities for our clients and their siblings. You will be responsible for watching over small groups of children during either a drop-in playroom or a scheduled playroom group.
Child minding is integral to CASA’s daily operations and without it, some clients would not be able to bring their kids in for help. CASA provides childcare at all of our locations for the siblings of the children that are undergoing therapeutic sessions. This lessens the financial burden of childcare and allows the parents and children to focus solely on the session.
Program Support
Our 22 programs are always in need of volunteers and offer valuable real-life experience by providing opportunities to engage in each program and interact with our clients. A few examples of program support opportunities are listed below.
Volunteer Interns
As a CASA volunteer, we offer you the option of gaining rewards in the form of exclusive opportunities. The program requires the volunteer to commit to 100 hours of volunteering with us over the course of one year. The hours will be split up as listed below:
The exclusive opportunities, such as shadowing a clinician, are earned every 25 hours completed, and can be redeemed up to a maximum of 4 experiences.
Volunteers will also be rewarded with a certificate for their completion of the program when they have accrued the 100 hours.
If you are interested in any of these positions, please complete the application and submit to volunteer@casaservices.org.
